WHATEVER THE WEATHER
An immersive playscape for children
Whatever the Weather is an immersive playscape experience inviting children and their grown-ups to play creatively together. Co-created by Daniel Naddafy and Rūta Irbīte, the production premiered at the Unicorn Theatre, London, in July 2026, where its run sold out before transferring to Hullabaloo in Darlington.
Step into a playful world of rain, snow, sunshine and more, where digital technology and hands-on play combine to create an interactive environment inspired by the changing weather. Inspired by ideas from local children, Whatever the Weather is an artist-designed space celebrating the many ways children naturally play. Blending tactile materials, imaginative environments and responsive digital technology, it invites children to explore independently, collaborate with others, and invent their own adventures alongside the adults who accompany them.
Described as a "delightfully playful immersive production," the experience has been praised for the way "curiosity is activated as the children explore, imagine and reinvent, working individually, with their adults or negotiating with peers." Everything Theatre ★★★★
