Travelling in London
The tube network runs from around 05:30 - 00:00 with some tube lines running 24 hours on Friday and Saturday. All tubes use contactless payment, which is the cheapest method of travel.
Busses only use contactless payment, you can not purchase physical tickets or pay with cash. The city is served by a network of 24 hour buses.
Lime Bikes and other electric bike hires are widely avalible across the city.

ARRIVAL BY AIR
City Airport. The most convenient airport. You can be in central London within 25 minutes using the DLR which runs daily from 05:30 - 00:00 and pay using contactless payment. The airport is also easily reached by taxi.
London Heathrow. The largest airport with easy access into Central London, taking around 45 minutes using the Elizabeth Line. You can also use the Piccadilly line which is much slower, around 1.5 hours. Both offer contactless payment and run from around 05:30 -00:00. The Heathrow Express is a high speed train taking 15 minutes to arrive in to London Paddington Station and operates from 05:30 - 23:20. You must purchase a ticket for this service, you can not use contactless payment. Ticket are available at the airport or online. Taxis to and from Heathrow are very expensive around £90 - £180 one way.
London Gatwick. A less convenient airport with trains into London taking around 1 hour by trains which come into London Bridge Station or London Victoria Station. You can also use contactless payment for these trains and they run 24 hours.
Stansted Airport. Further out of London this airport operates a lot of low budget flights. Transport into London is via train the Stansted Express Train which comes into Liverpool Street Station and runs from 04:00 - 00:00. Tickets must be purchased for this service, contactless payment is not accepted. Alternatively National Express runs cheap but slower coach services 24 hours, arriving into Stratford Station, London Liverpool Street Station and London Victoria Station. Tickets can be purchased online or at the airport on arrival.
Luton Airport. Also offers low budget flights and is served by the Luton Express Train, arriving into London St Pancras station. These trains are less frequent and do not run through the night. You need to purchase a ticket in advance or at the airport, you can't use contactless payment.
